The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the P10 Surgical Oncology unit in Houston. The role provides patient care as directed by a registered nurse, contributing to patient comfort and outcomes.

You will join a multidisciplinary team on a fast-paced inpatient unit. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and CNA certification with hands-on patient care experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
• One year experience in an acute care hospital setting as Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment skills test as required by Human Resources.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Patient Care Technician on the P10 Surgical Oncology unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse and directly impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, a CNA certification and hands-on patient care experience. The candidate must be available to work a combination of two 12 and two 8-hour shifts, Monday-Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays. This department is hiring for both shifts.

Day/Evening Shift: (7:00am - 7:00pm, 7:00am - 3:00pm, 3:00pm - 11:00pm).

Evening/Night Shift: (7:00pm - 7:00am, 11:00pm- 7:00am, 3:00pm - 11:00pm).

P10 Surgical/Oncology is a specialized inpatient unit providing care for surgical oncology patients, including those undergoing complex cancer-related procedures. Nurses on this unit deliver pre- and post-operative care, manage pain and complications, and provide education and emotional support to patients and families.

Hourly breakdown of salary range:

Minimum $18.27 - Midpoint $22.84 - Maximum $27.40
