Job summary

Geisinger Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our team. The role offers a $1500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates and a minimum hiring rate of $18.94 per hour, with potential rate increases for experienced caregivers.

Eligible employees may receive up to $40,000 in financial support to pursue nursing education. Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, taking vital signs, performing point-of-care testing, and ensuring patient safety across shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year related work experience preferred.
• BLS Certification within 6 months from start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide enhanced patient care under supervision of a registered nurse.
• Assist with activities of daily living and routine patient care tasks.
• Perform point of care testing and monitor medical equipment.
• Document clinical observations and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with transporting patients and coordinating tests.
• Support nursing staff with care delivery and discharge processes.
