Job summary

Mercy seeks a Patient Care Associate/Patient Care Technician to support individualized patient care under RN/LPN supervision. The role includes vital signs, feeding, mobility, and clerical tasks within the 6B department.

A DOL Apprenticeship training program, with a 1,500 sign-on for full-time roles, supports credentialing and career growth. Education requirements include a high school diploma or GED; CNA/CPTC or enrollment in a healthcare program is encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; CNA/CPTC or enrolled in healthcare program preferred.
• No prior experience required.
• BLS certification required within one month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and document in EMR.
• Assist with patient care: meals, bathing, toileting, mobility, transport.
• Provide clerical support as needed.
• Phlebotomy and blood cultures; wound care; IV/Foley removal; trach care/suctioning.
