Patient Care Technician Shelbyville (Finance)

Under the day-to-day direction of the on-duty nurse practitioner/physician assistant, the primary purpose of the Patient Care Technician (PCT) is to maximize patient flow through the clinic while providing an excellent patient experience. This role involves performing administrative tasks, including electronic health record (EHR) documentation, in line with company policies. Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent administrative, communication, and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Excellent customer service and task management skills
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in retail, customer service, or healthcare
  • Knowledge of infection control practices
  • Ability to maintain a safe, survey-ready healthcare environment
  • Greet patients and visitors professionally
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic
  • Assist with patient registration, verification, and payment collection
  • Obtain vital signs and patient history, and document in the EHR
  • Manage patient flow and provide guidance on services and wait times
  • Respond to phone inquiries and assist with off-site events
  • Prepare supplies and manage shipments
  • Travel to designated clinics if assigned as a float
  • Assist providers with specimen collection and reporting, following protocols
