Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to provide routine patient care and support services under nurse or physician direction. The role involves direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, and coordinating with departments to ensure timely services.

Shifts rotate days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays in the United States. PTO is available from day 1, and the organization supports career development and retirement planning.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED (preferred)
• CNA certification is preferred and may be required
• Minimum age 16

Responsibilities

• Provides safe and direct patient care: ambulating, bathing, positioning, feeding and attending to care needs.
• Responds promptly to patient call lights and special needs and handles valuables with care.
• Greets visitors, answers inquiries, assists with messages and mail, and runs errands for department staff.
• Ambulates patients, assists in and out of wheelchairs, and measures intake and output; may collect specimens.
• Answers phone, operates paging system, and assists with emergencies and transitions.
• Prepares requisitions for diagnostic and therapeutic services and coordinates appointments.
