Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support licensed nurses and provide direct patient care in a safety-sensitive environment.

In this day shift role, you will assist with ADLs, monitor vitals, collect specimens, and participate in patient education while maintaining a safe, clean, and compassionate care setting. A CNA certification or current nursing student status is preferred, and a sign-on bonus is available.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a professional or practical nursing education program and will complete within 90 days a fundamentals of nursing course.
• Certified Nurse Assistant certification required or in MO state requirements.
• Completion of a patient care technician training program meeting MO rule or UAP requirements within the last 3 years.

Responsabilités

• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, promoting patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Administers or assists patients with ADLs; performs VS, intake/output, fall and pressure ulcer prevention, Foley care, phlebotomy, or point-of-care testing as requested.
• Collects clinical data and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Assists nurse with patient and family education; documents all patient care activities.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet patient needs.
• Participates in safety, quality, and regulatory compliance activities; engages in lifelong learning and 1:1 patient safety sitter as needed.
• This is a safety-sensitive position; the ability to work with alertness and safety is essential.
• Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

Collects vital information on the patient and reports such to the RN which contributes to the overall assessment of each patient and any changes to a patient's condition.**Job Responsibilities*** Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, promoting patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Administers or assists patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), performs vital signs (VS), intake and output (I&O), fall and pressure ulcer prevention measures, foley care, phlebotomy, or point of care testing as requested.* Collects clinical data and information on patients, and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
