Job summary

Boone Health in Missouri seeks a patient care technician to provide direct care under the supervision of licensed nurses. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, document information, and help ensure a safe patient environment.

As a Frontline CNA, you will support families and patients, participate in safety protocols, and be involved in ongoing professional development. Weekend and holiday coverage are required.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in nursing education or CNA training program with 90 days to complete fundamentals of nursing.
• Certified Nursing Assistant designation or candidate status with state requirements.
• Experience or training as patient care technician or similar role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Administer or assist with ADLs, measure VS, I&O, and safety precautions.
• Report changes in patient status to RN and document care activities.
• Assist with patient education and ensure supplies/equipment readiness.
• Act as 1:1 sitter for patient safety when required.

Collects vital information on the patient and reports such to the RN which contributes to the overall assessment of each patient and any changes to a patient's condition.Job ResponsibilitiesImplements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, promoting patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Administers or assists patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), performs vital signs (VS), intake and output (I&O), fall and pressure ulcer prevention measures, foley care, phlebotomy, or point of care testing as requested.Collects clinical data and information on patients, and reports changes in patient status to the nurse. Assists nurse with patient and family education. Documents all patient care activities provided.Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient’s needs.Participates in activities that promote safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development and lifelong learning, as well as acting as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.Boone Health has determined this is a safety-sensitive position.
