Job summary

Boone Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the PCU in Columbia. The role supports licensed nurses, provides direct patient care, and ensures a safe environment by monitoring patient status and assisting with ADLs.

You will collect vital information, report changes to the RN, aid in family education, and help maintain supplies and safety standards in a fast-paced unit.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a nursing program or recently completed fundamentals of nursing course within 90 days.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) licensure or eligibility.
• Licensed practical nurse program completion outside US awaiting licensure acceptable.
• Patient care technician training program completion within last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under nurse supervision and support patient/family education.
• Assist with ADL, monitor vital signs, promote safety, and prevent falls/ulcers.
• Collect clinical data, report changes to the RN, and document care activities.
• Ensure supplies/equipment are available and ready for patient needs.

Collects vital information on the patient and reports such to the RN which contributes to the overall assessment of each patient and any changes to a patient's condition.**Job Responsibilities*** Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, promoting patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Administers or assists patients with ADL, performs VS, l&O, fall and pressure ulcer prevention measures, foley care, phlebotomy, or point of care testing as requested.* Collects clinical data and information on patients, and reports changes in patient status to the nurse. Assists nurse with patient and family education. Documents all patient care activities provided.* Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient’s needs.* Participates in activities that promote safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
