Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston seeks a Patient Care Technician to support procedural and therapeutic activities in oncology care. The role emphasizes safe, compassionate interactions with patients, families, and coworkers.

The ideal candidate will be organized, flexible, and demonstrate exceptional communication and customer service skills. Prior PACU or procedural experience and CNA certification are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Preferred: Prior procedural or PACU experience.
• Preferred: CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant Upon Hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares rooms for procedures.
• Transports patients safely to and from assigned area using stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Enter patient transportation requests into Epic and monitor the status.
• Participates in inventory management and expiration management.
• Stocks procedure rooms and recovery bays with supplies and lines.
• Picks up supplies from materials management.
• Makes end of day patient reminder calls and post-up calls.
• Communicates within and among team members in a healthy, constructive way.
