Job summary

Community Clinical Research seeks a compassionate Patient Care Technician to support inpatient study participants at our Austin facility. Working with the Charge Nurse, you will help ensure safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the stay in accordance with study protocols.

The role involves assisting with admissions/discharges, monitoring vital signs, and coordinating activities to keep participants engaged, with prior mental health support experience preferred.

Working closely with the Charge Nurse, you'll support high-quality patient care delivered in line with study protocols, and you'll be a steady, reassuring presence for participants throughout their stay.

Schedule: PRN

Key Responsibilities

• Observe participants attentively, then report and document observations accurately
• Help with admissions and discharges so each participant has a smooth, welcoming experience
• Collect and record vital signs
• Oversee meal service
• Plan and coordinate unit activities that keep participants engaged and comfortable
• Previous experience supporting individuals with mental health diagnoses is preferred.

• Ability to communicate patient and study information clearly, and to respond thoughtfully to questions from investigators, staff, and participants
• Commitment to Good Clinical Practice and the regulations that protect human research participants
