Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the Postpartum and Antepartum units in Evanston, IL. This role works under an RN, performing essential patient care tasks, vital signs, EKGs, and assist with discharge preparation.

Part-time schedule with 16 hours per week, rotating shifts including evenings and weekends. Accredited CNA training with BLS, inpatient PCT or maternal-child health experience preferred; strong team collaboration and patient safety focus required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited CNA training course preferred.
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider.
• Inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with patient care on Antepartum and Postpartum units.
• Take and record vital signs, perform 12-Lead EKG and other routine tasks.
• Assist with discharge preparation and daily care activities.
• Support safety and high-quality patient experiences on the unit.

Hourly Pay Range: $19.71 - $28.58
Position: Patient Care Technician - Postpartum Unit
Location: Evanston, IL
Part Time: 16 hours /week
Hours: 1500-2330 and 2300-0730 (will include weekend rotation)
Float: Will float to units throughout Evanston Hospital if needed

What You Will Do

Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care on the Antepartum unit Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse Assist with the implementation of a patient-specific care plan Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

What You Will Need

Education: Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) training course preferred or Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred
Certification: Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association
Experience: Inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience preferred
Unique or Preferred Skills: Inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience preferred
