Northwestern Memorial Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to perform direct patient care, including admissions, monitoring vital signs, and phlebotomy in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role supports RNs, ensures safety, and participates in safety and quality initiatives within a comprehensive care team.

The position requires CNA certification or active enrollment in nursing education, current CPR/BLS, and strong adherence to health and safety training.

Qualifications

• CNA Certification or currently enrolled in School of Nursing with basic clinical rotations completed.
• CPR recognition by the American Heart Association (BLS for Healthcare Providers).
• Minimum 90% on annual mandatory Health and Safety Training quizzes.
• Unit based recognition for Capillary Blood Glucose Monitoring.

Responsabilités

• Direct patient care including admission, transfer and discharge processes.
• Take and record vital signs and monitoring data.
• Performs phlebotomy and collects specimens as needed.
• Respond to patient calls and emergencies and ensure patient safety.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and assist RN with care activities.
