**Patient Care Tech (PCT)**

_Texas Health is seeking a skilled PCT. Are you the one?_

**Location:** Texas Health Fort Worth - 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104

**Department:** NICU

**Hours:** 36 hours/week, Full-Time, Nights (7pm - 7am)

**Highlights:**

  • Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth is an 815-bed, Magnet-designated regional referral center serving Tarrant County and surrounding communities since 1930. It offers services in cardiovascular care, high-risk obstetrics, gynecology, orthopedics, neonatal intensive care, trauma/emergency medicine, and more. The hospital features a 75,000 sq ft Emergency Services Center, over 4,000 employees, 200 volunteers, and nearly 1,000 physicians. Recognized nationally for its oncology program and named “Best Place to Have a Baby” in Tarrant County. Certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Primary Heart Attack Center by the Joint Commission.

**Qualifications:**

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent **_Required_**
  • Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency **_Required_**
  • Completion of PCT Training Program (e.g., TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT) or equivalent. Certification not required to be maintained post-hire unless specified. **_Required_**
  • EMT certification or military medical experience equivalent (e.g., EMT-B). **_Required_**
  • Other nursing students or foreign nurse degree holders may qualify if they have completed fundamentals training. **_Required_**
  • One year of applicable experience may substitute for active certification. **_Required_**
  • BCLS certification prior to providing independent patient care, maintained quarterly. **_Required_**
  • CPI training, maintained annually. **_Required_**

Additional skills include organizational abilities, positive interpersonal skills, and effective communication.

**Role Responsibilities:**

  • Assist patients according to care plans.
  • Collect and report patient data.
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges.
  • Support patient activities of daily living, respecting patient/family preferences.
  • Perform technical procedures safely and proficiently.
  • Reduce patient risks.
  • Enter orders and document accurately.
  • Collaborate with nurses to adapt care to patient needs, including cultural and religious considerations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Anticipate and meet patient, family, and visitor needs.
  • Work in partnership with the healthcare team following the Professional Practice Model.
  • Be adaptable to schedule and workload changes.
  • Support new team members and participate in orientation.
  • Use interpersonal skills effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Prioritize care collaboratively with nursing staff.
  • Maintain and enhance patient care skills.
  • Seek supervision for unfamiliar tasks.
  • Serve as a patient advocate.
  • Comply with policies and communicate effectively.
  • Report ethical or legal concerns promptly.
  • Participate in process improvement activities.
  • Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals.
