**Patient Care Tech (PCT)**

_Texas Health is seeking a skilled PCT. Are you the one?_

**Work location:** Texas Health Fort Worth - 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104

**Department:** Neuro Telemetry

**Work hours:** 36 hours, Full-Time, Nights (7pm-7am)

**Minimum Requirements:**

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent _Required_
  • Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency _Required_
  • Completion of a PCT Training Program (TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, or THR approved). Certification maintenance not required after hire unless applicable. _Required_
  • EMT certification or military medical training equivalent (EMT-B). _Required_
  • Completion of fundamentals in nursing or foreign nurse degree. _Required_
  • One year of applicable experience in lieu of active certification. _Required_
  • BCLS certification prior to independent patient care and maintained quarterly. _Required_
  • CPI training, maintained annually. _Required_

**Skills and Attributes:**

  • Organizational skills for fast-paced environments, positive interpersonal skills, effective communication.
  • Nursing students who haven't completed their program but have Fundamentals Training, and EMTs without current EMT status, may continue if they've demonstrated skills in the PCT role.

**What You Will Do:**

  • Assist patients according to care plans.
  • Collect and report patient data.
  • Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
  • Support activities of daily living, adapting to patient and family preferences.
  • Perform technical procedures safely and proficiently.
  • Reduce patient risk and ensure safety.
  • Enter orders and document accurately.
  • Collaborate with nurses to tailor care, respecting cultural and religious needs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Anticipate and meet patient, family, and visitor needs.
  • Work in partnership with the healthcare team following Professional Practice Model philosophy.
  • Adapt to schedule changes and support new team members.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Organize workload and prioritize care with nursing support.
  • Maintain and improve patient care skills.
  • Seek assistance when performing unfamiliar tasks.
  • Act as a patient advocate.
  • Follow personnel policies and department communication standards.
  • Report ethical or legal concerns promptly.
  • Identify and improve inefficient processes.
  • Participate in quality and safety initiatives.
  • Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals.
