Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT). Under RN/LPN supervision, you will assist in patient care and perform clinical procedures and support tasks. The role offers part-time hours with shifts typically 12 hours (days/nights TBD) and a pathway via the UAP ladder for PCA or CNA tracks.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, and BLS within one month. Training programs and a 90-day orientation are provided.

Qualificações

• Experience: None required. If no previous experience, will be considered for PCA role with a 175-hour training program to be completed within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred Experience: EMT, Paramedic or previous patient care experience (i.e. PCA, CNA, or active nursing student).
• Required Education: High school diploma, G.E.D., CNA/CPCT or enrolled in a healthcare career program through high school or age 18 and able to participate in Mercy's UAP training program.
• Certifications: BLS required within one month of hire; PCT competencies within 3 months of hire.
• Preferred Certifications: CNA, EMT, AUA, CPCT.
• Other: Physical requirements include lifting 50 pounds regularly, prolonged standing/walking, and ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat.

Qualifications

• Experience: None required. If no previous experience, will be considered for PCA role in which Mercy will provide a required 175-hour training program that meets the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services requirements. The program will be completed as part of the new hire orientation process and must be completed within 90 days of hire to remain in the PCA position per state guidelines.
• Preferred Experience: EMT, Paramedic or previous patient care experience (i.e. PCA, CNA, or active nursing student).
• Required Education: High school diploma, G.E.D., CNA/CPCT or enrolled in a healthcare career program through their high school curriculum or age 18 and able to participate in Mercy's UAP training program and/or a current co-worker of Mercy.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within one month of hire, completion of PCT competencies within 3 months of hire.
• Preferred Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) in the state of practice, Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT).
• Other: Minimum Physical Requirements:
• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
