Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast in Destin, Florida, is seeking a nurse-aide/tech for a Nights | Full-Time position in the Stepdown Intermediate Care department. You will assist patients with daily personal care, monitor changes, record vital signs and care activities, and maintain clean, safe rooms and equipment.

BLS required within 1 month of hire. High School diploma or equivalent or 1 year of applicable experience acceptable.

Qualifications

• Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date or transfer date.

Responsibilities

• Help patients with daily personal care (bathing, dressing, feeding) and safe movement.
• Monitor patients and report changes to nursing staff.
• Accurately record vital signs, intake/output, and care activities in medical records.
• Keep patient rooms clean, safe, and orderly, and sanitize equipment.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Help patients with daily personal care (bathing, dressing, feeding) and safe movement, transfers, and repositioning.
• Monitor patients for any physical, mental, or emotional changes and immediately report findings to the nursing staff.
• Accurately record patient vital signs, intake/output, and completed care activities in their medical records.
• Keep patient rooms clean, safe, and orderly, while maintaining and sanitizing basic medical equipment.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
