Job summary

Providence Health & Services' Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo seeks a Patient Care Tech II to provide basic nursing care under RN supervision, and to collect and report information.

You will assist with documentation and participate in patient-focused care as part of a collaborative team. Candidates must have CNA program or EMT or nursing prereq and California CNA license, BLS, and data entry experience.

Qualifications

• Must have CNA program or nursing prereqs or EMT program completion.
• California Nursing Assistant Certification license required upon hire.
• California EMT license required upon hire.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care for in-patients and out-patients under RN supervision.
• Collect and report information to supervising RN.
• Complete patient care documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Under general supervision by the RN, the Patient Care Tech II is responsible for providing basic nursing care for in-patients and out-patients as needed, within their specified area(s) (see below). The Patient Care Tech II is responsible for collecting and reporting of information to the supervising RN and completion of all patient care related documentation.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: For hires after 10/31/16:
• Completion of a CNA program, Or
• Completion of first semester nursing program, Or
• EMT program completion for hires to Emergency Services.
• Upon hire: California Nursing Assistant Certification License, or
• Upon hire: California Emergency Medical Technician License
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• Experience with basic data entry.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Successful completion of dysrhythmia course or ability to pass rhythm recognition exam test, or equivalent educ/experience
• 1 year of acute patient care experience, Or
• 6 months experience in a direct patient care environment in providing clerical support related to Provider or Patient documentation or charting.
• Coursework/Training: EKG Training.
