Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join the Observation Department at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. The role involves monitoring patients, performing bedside procedures, and supporting nurses and providers with examinations and treatments.

You will contribute to patient safety and participate in a collaborative, compassionate care team. The position is part-time (36 hours/week) with 12-hour night shifts (7pm–7:30am), alternating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• GED or HiSET completion.
• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to document patient data accurately.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate patient care and monitor vitals.
• Perform procedures including dressing changes, EKGs, and Point-of-Care tests.
• Support nurses and providers with exams, treatments and patient care activities.
• Communicate respectfully with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Ensure patient safety and report changes to the clinical team.
