Patient Care Technician/Nursing Assistant
Under the supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse, the Patient Care Technician (PCT) / Nursing Assistant assists patients with tasks they cannot perform alone, such as mobilization, bathing, eating, and communication.
High School Diploma required; American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification required; PCT certification preferred.
Previous experience in a Nursing Assistant role in a hospital, nursing home, or ambulatory setting is preferred.
Ability to lift or assist in lifting patients, respond quickly in emergencies, use stairs, walk, carry equipment, reach overhead, and communicate effectively.
If not certified as a PCT upon hire, the candidate will be hired as a Nursing Assistant at a starting rate of $21.74, with the option to obtain PCT certification through hospital training. Upon certification, salary increases accordingly. Certified candidates with phlebotomy skills will receive a higher starting rate.
Other notes include requirements for good standing, participation in training programs, and salary increases after probation and employment milestones.
Salary ranges are based on experience, with increases after probation and one year of employment.
