POSITION TITLE: PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN/NURSING ASSISTANT
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse, the Patient Care Technician (PCT) / Nursing Assistant assists patients with tasks they cannot perform alone, such as mobilization, walking, bathing, eating, and communication.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF A PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN INCLUDE:

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma required; American Heart Association BLS certification required; PCT certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Prior experience as a Nursing Assistant in a hospital, nursing home, or outpatient setting preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift or assist in lifting patients, respond quickly in emergencies, navigate stairs, walk, carry equipment, and communicate effectively.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: If not certified as a PCT at start, hire as Nursing Assistant with potential to obtain PCT certification through hospital training. Salary increases after training completion and based on certification. Rates increase after probation and one year of employment.
OTHER INFORMATION: Resume/CV required. The hospital is smoke-free. Positions may require PPE, and some are designated as essential during emergencies.
PAY RANGE: Salary varies based on experience, with increases after probation and one year.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: Physical exam, references, drug screening, regulatory screenings, and license verification required before start.
