Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician for a 34-bed unit. The role works under an RN to perform basic patient care activities, monitor vital signs, and assist with ADLs. The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, nursing student with clinical rotation completed, or appropriate CNA/CMA/EMT certification, and CPR/BLS certification.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Nursing students who have completed one clinical rotation are eligible.
• Certified as CNA, CMA, EMT, or nursing student with one semester of clinical completed is required.
• CPR - Basic Life Support certification is required.

Responsabilidades

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN.
• Monitors vital signs, takes blood glucose measurements, records intake and output.
• Assists with personal care and activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating).
• Reports abnormal findings to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Prioritizes tasks and manages unit workflow with the charge RN or assistant manager.
• Acts as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
• Answers calls and communicates information to staff/family/patients.
• Performs pre-census and validates admission/discharge/census lists as needed.
