Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is hiring a Patient Care Technician to support bedside care and comfort under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will perform essential basic care activities, monitor patient status, and assist with routine tasks to ensure patient safety and well-being.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, strong reading/writing and math basics, and a willingness to pursue healthcare goals. BLS within 90 days is required; CNA is a plus but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read/write and perform basic 4 function math.
• Desire to help people and/or have aspirations of becoming a healthcare professional.
• Basic computer skills (preferred).
• Medical terminology (preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and record them accurately.
• Measure height and weight; monitor oxygen saturation.
• Report unusual observations to the nurse promptly.
• Collect specimens for analysis as directed.
• Record and measure intake and output.
• Provide personal care and assist with daily activities.
• Perform basic clinical procedures under RN supervision.
• Assist with meals, room service, and feeding as needed.
