The Patient Care Technician shall serve as a supportive member of the patient care team, assisting in routine and non-complex aspects of patient care. The PCT will assist RNs, LPNs, and Physicians in the patient care process. Additional duties within the scope of the role may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications
  1. High School graduate or equivalent required. Graduate from a certified Nursing Assistant Program or a Health Occupations Program (HOSA) preferred.
  2. Completion of first clinical rotation as a Nurse Student (e.g., completion of "Nursing Fundamentals" course including assistance with Activities of Daily Living, vital signs, etc.) or at least one (1) year of experience in a patient care role in an acute care, nursing home, or home care setting preferred.
  3. License / Certification required: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  4. Knowledge of body mechanics, basic safety principles, physical care, and comfort techniques.
  5. Medical terminology training preferred.
  6. Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns effectively.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
