Qualifications

Position Summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Automotive Technician! As an Automotive Technician in Holyoke, Massachusetts specializing in light and medium-duty fleet vehicles, your role is crucial in ensuring the safety, satisfaction, and excellence of our fleet maintenance services.

Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday! $30-$40 per hour, depending on experience.

*** Potential Sign on Bonus, up to $2,500 ***

Shift: Wednesday - Saturday - 7:00pm - 5:30am (4x10's)

What the Auto Service Technician role looks like:

  1. Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
  2. Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to light and medium duty vehicles
  3. Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required
  4. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  5. Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
  6. Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
  7. Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicles
  8. Maintain general upkeep and maintenance of Mobile Service Truck
  9. Respond to off-site client requests as needed
  10. Interact with clients through both email and phone as necessary
  11. Perform other duties as required

What our ideal candidate looks like:

  1. At least 5 years’ experience performing vehicle maintenance or must possess auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school
  2. Must have valid Driver’s License
  3. CMV operation above 10K requiring medical certification
  4. Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
  5. Ability to work without direct supervision
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
  7. Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
  8. Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.

Work Conditions:

  1. Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
  2. Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.
  3. Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
  4. Ability to move and position heavy objects
  5. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles
  6. Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
