Job summary

PCH Princeton Community Hospital is seeking a patient care support role to assist nurses with direct and indirect care. You will monitor vital signs, help with hygiene, and ensure a safe environment in a busy medical-surgical unit.

Role requires a High School Diploma and BLS certification within 30 days of hire, with prior patient care experience preferred. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Princeton, WV.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient concerns or changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs, assists in personal hygiene and other patient comfort measures; tracks intake and output.
• Assists in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment to help prevent infections and ensure safety of patients, visitors and staff.
• Reports equipment repairs to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures per department procedure.
• Communicates nutrition issues to RN, such as poor appetite or diet misunderstanding.
• Assists department with administrative tasks to support operations.
• Answers patient call bell and relays messages to appropriate personnel.
