Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian is seeking Nursing Assistants and Patient Care Technicians to provide routine patient care under the direction of nurses and physicians. The role includes 12-hour shifts with a mix of day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday coverage, and mandatory training for inexperienced hires.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, taking vital signs, performing EKGs, bladder scans, and specimen collections, and adhering to established policies to ensure high-quality patient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year general healthcare experience, OR 6 months as UPMC Nursing Assistant/CNA with PCT competency achieved within 120 days of hire/transfer/promotion.
• Successful completion of UPMC patient care technician class.
• Successful completion of eRecord training.
• EMT or Paramedic preferred; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care and support department services under supervision of nurses/physicians.
• Assist patients with ADLs (bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, ambulating, turning/repositioning).
• Perform vital signs, simple dressings, EKGs, bladder scans, and specimen collections.
