Sentara is currently hiring a Patient Care Technician to work at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital located in Virginia Beach on Intermediate Care Unit 4B. The Intermediate Care (IMCU) is a 24‑bed unit located on the 3rd floor at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital. Our patient population consists of medical‑surgical patients, patients requiring BIPAPs and chronic ventilators. We are also a Stroke Certified unit. Patient Care Technicians are unlicensed staff members who are accountable to, and work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care. They provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse. They observe patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any changes to the nurse.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
American Health Associate BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire
One year of prior health care experience preferred.
