Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician in New Jersey. The role supports nurses by delivering direct and indirect patient care, ensuring safety, comfort, and satisfaction across a unit.

Training opportunities include the HMH PCT Apprenticeship Program with potential transfer to a full PCT role. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of a CNA/MA/PCT program or nursing program, or enrollment in the HMH apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Completion of one of: CNA, Medical Assistant or PCT program; Nursing program from accredited school; HMH PCT Apprenticeship; or equivalent medical background.
• Candidates without one program but with other requirements may enter PCT Apprentice program.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age-appropriate criteria and safety.
• Maintain effective communication with patients and care team about status and care.
• Collaborate in interdisciplinary plan of care from admission to discharge.
• Participate in Unit/Department PI activities.
• Act proactively to improve job performance and opportunities.
