Job summary

UNC Health Nash seeks a Nurse Assistant II to provide routine direct and indirect patient care under supervision in hospital, clinic or home health settings. You will assist with exams, procedures, and patient care activities as outlined in the plan of care. Required are completion of a N.A.

II course and current NC Nurse Aide registrations, plus BCLS. Responsibilities include patient support, documentation, and collaboration with the care team in an onsite setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Nurse Assistant II course.
• Current Nurse Aide II Listing Card with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Current Nurse Aide I Registry listing with the NC Division of Facility Services Registry as a Nursing Assistant I.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Proficient in keyboard operations and basic computer applications.
• Ability to operate standard office machines.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procure equipment and supplies during emergencies.
• In psychiatric settings, aid patients in reality orientation, support therapy, de-escalate aggressive patients, assist in physical management, and monitor therapeutic milieu to meet patient needs.
• Observe, document, and report changes in patient condition to a nurse or physician.
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge processes.
• Provide care including vital signs, measurements, specimen collection, wound care, ROM, and basic daily living activities.
• Provide direct personal care for daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation.
