Job summary

Nash UNC Health Care is seeking a Nurse Assistant II to provide routine direct and indirect patient care under supervision in hospital, clinic, or home health settings. Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Nurse Assistant II course approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Current Nurse Aide II Listing Card with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Current Nurse Aide I Registry listing with the NC Division of Facility Services Registry as a Nursing Assistant I.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Proficient in keyboard operations, and basic computer applications.
• Incumbent will be required to take a Medical Terminology and basic arrhythmia course in the first year.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procure equipment and supplies during emergencies.
• In psychiatric settings, aid patients in orientation, participate in behavior modification plans, and provide de-escalation and basic care.
• Observe and document patient information and report significant changes to a nurse or physician.
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge processes.
• Provide care including vital signs, wound care, range of motion, mobility assistance, and basic patient interactions.
• Provide direct personal care for activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation assistance.
• Perform indirect care duties such as cleaning, linen changes, restocking, and transporting supplies.
