Job summary

UNC Health Nash is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant II to join our dedicated care team in Nash County, North Carolina. The role supports professional caregivers, transports patients and equipment, sets up patient rooms, and maintains unit clerical functions.

Responsibilities include assisting with examinations, documenting patient status changes, and providing direct personal care under plan of care, with vital signs, hygiene, mobility, and complex routines as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in verbal and written English language.
• One (1) year of clerical or customer service experience and six (6) months of related nursing assistant experience, which may include a nursing assistant course or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procure equipment and supplies.
• Review patient care documentation and report significant changes to a nurse or physician.
• Perform clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, research information for nurses/physicians, review and revise orders, answer calls, transcribe orders, maintain medical records, and conduct quality audits.
