Job summary

Atlantic Health in Summit, NJ is seeking a patient care assistant to support doctors and nursing staff in meeting the basic needs of each patient. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and help with mobility and transfers.

Responsibilities include performing EKGs, phlebotomy, and blood glucose monitoring, observing patient changes and reporting to the RN, and maintaining phlebotomy equipment. Additional related duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing
• Obtains and records vital signs, weights, and heights
• Assists patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, discharges and ROM activities
• Performs post mortem care
• Performs EKG's, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring
• Observes and reports changes in patients' condition to the RN
• Maintains phlebotomy equipment and inventory
• Other related duties as assigned
