Job summary

Atlantic Medical Group in Scotch Plains, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patient care in the Care Center. You will assist patients with vital signs, mobility, wound care, and prepare examination rooms, under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include documenting data, performing EKGs and phlebotomy if needed, and maintaining supplies. Strong communication and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months prior healthcare experience with patient care experience preferred.
• BLS preferred; required within 3 months of hire.
• CCMA in PCT program related preferred

Responsibilities

• Assisting patients with obtaining and recording vital signs, weights and heights.
• Assisting patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, accommodations as needed.
• Performing EKGs, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring if needed.
• Taking patient histories, preparing examination rooms, and helping with minor medical procedures like wound care, vaccinations, and blood draws, if needed.
• Observing and reporting changes in patients' condition to the RN.
• Exam rooms: Preparing examination rooms as needed.
• Documentation: Documenting patient information and data, including vital signs, weight, height, blood pressure, and temperature.
• Supplies and equipment: Preparing, organizing, and efficiently utilizing supplies and equipment.
• Must be willing and able to work with diverse group of patients; attentive to detail and have excellent communication skills.
• Maintaining phlebotomy equipment and inventory and all other duties as assigned.
