Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the ED Behavioral Health Unit at Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center. This part-time role covers a night shift with 24 hours per week and weekend work required, located in Columbia, MD.

The PCT conducts direct patient care under supervision, records clinical information, and uses specialized equipment to ensure safe care. CNA and BLS are required with at least one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification on Maryland Board of Nursing.
• Current BLS CPR certification.
• One year of clinical experience required.

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs direct patient care tasks under the supervision of a nurse and taking into consideration the developmental needs of the patient, performs routine patient activities and delegated patient care procedures of a specialized and technical nature as competency documentation designates. The PCT utilizes basic clinical skills to support daily patient care activities, accurately records and reports pertinent clinical information, and demonstrates proficiency in the use of specialized patient care equipment to ensure a safe and supportive care environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification on Maryland Board of Nursing
• Current BLS CPR certification provided by AHA, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network
• One year of clinical experience is required

Salary Range: Minimum 18.96/hour - Maximum 28.53/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
