Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine’s Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC seeks a Clinical Technician II in the Emergency Department. Under RN supervision, you observe patients, perform basic nursing tasks, and maintain a safe, compassionate environment in a high-volume setting.

This part-time role is 24 hours per week with a mid-shift schedule 12p–12:30a and weekend work required. A DC CNA license and BLS CPR are required along with at least two years of experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Certification as CNA in the District of Columbia.
• American Heart Association BLS CPR required.
• Minimum 2 years' experience.

Responsibilities

• Periodically checks patients, takes vital signs, and observes condition of the patient and patient care equipment or devices.
• Provides personal care for patient including hygiene and physical comfort measures.
• Performs bedside glucose monitoring & EKG tracing.
• Measures and records intake and output.
• Inserts and removes Foley catheters.

The Clinical Technician II (Clin Tech II) maintains a collaborative relationship with the Registered Nurse (RN) and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. Under the direction of an RN, a Clin Tech II works as an associate with training in advanced specific clinical skills/competencies on the healthcare team. Observes patients, provides skilled nursing care, and maintains the patient environment in an outcome oriented, safe, therapeutic, compassionate, and cost-effective manner.

Salary Range: Minimum 22.09/hour - Maximum 34.34/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
