Job summary

Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to perform direct patient care tasks under a nurse's supervision. The PCT will support daily patient activities, document pertinent information, and operate specialized care equipment to maintain a safe care environment.

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, Maryland CNA certification, current BLS CPR, and at least one year of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification on Maryland Board of Nursing.
• Current BLS CPR certification provided by AHA, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
• One year of clinical experience is required.

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs direct patient care tasks under the supervision of a nurse and taking into consideration the developmental needs of the patient, performs routine patient activities and delegated patient care procedures of a specialized and technical nature as competency documentation designates. The PCT utilizes basic clinical skills to support daily patient care activities, accurately records and reports pertinent clinical information, and demonstrates proficiency in the use of specialized patient care equipment to ensure a safe and supportive care environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification on Maryland Board of Nursing
• Current BLS CPR certification provided by AHA, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network
• One year of clinical experience is required

Salary Range: Minimum 18.41/hour - Maximum 27.70/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
