Job summary

Trinity Health Oakland Hospital is seeking a Patient Support Technician to join our team. This full-time position supports the care team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performing direct patient care and coordinating unit activities in a 12-hour day shift.

Essential duties include basic bedside care, ADLs, patient education, and maintaining patient records, with emphasis on compassionate, relationship-based care. Strong teamwork and adherence to Trinity Health values are expected.

Qualifications

• 6 months direct patient care experience within past 5 years.
• Completion of one Medical/Surgical clinical rotation in a nursing program.
• Completion of a "Patient Care Technician" externship in an acute care facility.
• Previous Health Unit Coordinator/Unit Secretary experience.
• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED program.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Maintain accurate patient records and unit census.
• Communicate with physicians, other departments, and visitors.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic bedside care.
• Support patient education as directed by the RN.
