Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist in delivering high-quality patient care under the supervision of registered nurses. The role supports patients across a variety of populations, focusing on safety, comfort and effective communication within an interdisciplinary team.

Required: High School diploma or GED and completion of a CNA/MA/PCT program or nursing program, or eligibility for the HMH PCT Apprenticeship Program.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Completion of CNA/MA/PCT program or nursing program or equivalent experience.
• May consider HMH PCT Apprenticeship Program with potential transfer to PCT role.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Support patient safety, comfort and satisfaction across care areas.
• Communicate with patients, families and health-care team about patient status.
• Initiate additional duties to improve care quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate in plan of care from admission to discharge.
• Participate in Unit/Department PI activities.
