Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide patient-centered care under RN/LPN supervision. The role includes assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe care environment, and ensuring clear communication within the healthcare team.

You will measure vital signs, support mobility and meals, and ensure infection control protocols are followed. CNA/BCLS credentials are preferred, with 0–2 years of acute care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred.
• Basic knowledge of patient care practices and equipment.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in delivering care and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Collect and record patient data (vital signs, height/weight, I/O, calorie counts) and report to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Support patients with meals, bathing, grooming, mobility, and elimination needs.
• Assist with patient positioning, ambulation, and use of mobility aids.
• Collect urine/stool samples and perform blood glucose monitoring; document results.
