Job summary

UPMC in Harrisburg is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff with patient care, ADLs, and basic therapies. You will perform core nursing assistant tasks, assist with procedures, monitor vitals, and report changes to the RN.

You will communicate with the health care team, maintain patient safety, document in the medical record, and participate in unit activities. EMT/paramedic candidates or students may be preferred; CPR certification required per policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Relevant healthcare experience or enrollment in a health sciences program is preferred.
• CPR/AHA standards training is recommended.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care including assisting with procedures and activities of daily living.
• Assists with nursing tasks such as vitals, I&O, and specimen collection.
• Documents in the medical record and reports changes to the RN.
• Maintains safety and communicates with the health care team.
