UPMC is seeking a part-time Patient Care Technician to provide essential nursing support. The role covers ADLs, basic therapies, and documentation, with emphasis on safety and teamwork in a hospital setting.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of UPMC PCT class, and may prefer EMT/Paramedic candidates or those in health-professional programs. Some shifts include evenings and every other weekend.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Successful completion of UPMC patient care technician class.
• EMT or Paramedic preferred; enrollment in health program acceptable.
• Erecord training completion is required.
• 6 months to 1 year healthcare experience or CNA background preferred.

Aufgaben

• Provides patient care including assisting with procedures and activities of daily living.
• Assists with physical, respiratory and cardiopulmonary therapies and reports changes to the RN.
• Performs core CNA tasks: glucose, weights, vital signs, I&O, specimens, Foley care.
• Maintains professional communication with health team and safety in the unit.
• Documents in the medical record and completes department clerical functions as needed.
