Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a part-time nursing assistant (PCT) to support the Surgery Unit 4 East in Virginia Beach, VA. Work from approximately 7am to 7pm with patient-focused care under supervision.

The role requires a CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent and BLS within 90 days, plus active enrollment in a clinical program with RN/LPN/RT/PT completed. Prior health care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• CNA, NCMA, NCPCT certifications completed.
• Navy Hospital Corps School completed.
• Emergency Services certification (EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic).
• Currently enrolled in a clinical program with RN/LPN/RT/PT completed.
• Last 3 years of work as PCT or Nursing Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direct supervision of a professional nurse.
• Support admissions and discharge processes with safety practices.
• Observe patients and report changes to the nurse.
