Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support a diverse patient population under RN supervision. You will perform direct and indirect care, assist with assessments, collect specimens, and help maintain a safe, clean environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, continuous learning, and delivering high-quality care while supporting the patient’s plan of care from admission through discharge.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of one of CNA/MA/PCT programs or equivalent medical background; apprentice path available.
• Ability to learn quickly, work in a team, and deliver compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with age-appropriate care across patient populations.
• Document vitals, specimens, and patient data; notify RN of abnormal results.
• Perform venipuncture and basic lab-related tasks as directed.
• Assist with patient transport, hygiene, comfort, and daily living activities.
• Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration and performance improvement activities.
