Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our care team in New York. The role involves assisting with activities of daily living, vital signs, and basic therapies under RN supervision, while maintaining safety and compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of UPMC patient care technician class.
• EMT or Paramedic training preferred.
• Effective communication with patients and team.

Responsibilities

• Assists with ADLs (bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, ambulating, turning and repositioning patients).
• Monitors vitals, I&O, and basic telemetry as directed.
• Supports safety and cleanliness; reports equipment malfunctions.
• Communicates with nurses and physicians to coordinate care.
• Performs departmental duties and assists with patient procedures as needed.
