Job summary

East Georgia Regional Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide high-quality, patient-centered support under RN/LPN supervision. You will assist with activities of daily living, data collection, and mobility while maintaining a safe care environment.

The role emphasizes effective communication, adherence to safety protocols, and participation in performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in an acute care setting or current nursing program enrollment.
• Basic knowledge of patient care practices and equipment.
• BCLS within 90 days of hire preferred.
• CNA or CPCT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with basic patient care while keeping a clean, safe environment.
• Record vital signs and patient data; report findings to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Support patients with meals, hygiene, mobility, and catheter care as needed.
• Assist with positioning, ambulation, and use of mobility aids.
• Collect urine/stool samples and monitor glucose; document results.
• Maintain infection control practices and effective team communication.
