Job summary

AdventHealth in Rome, Georgia is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for full-time night shifts. The role involves supporting registered nurses, delivering bedside patient care in a 3 x 12 hour shift schedule (6pm-6am) and rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• 1+ applicable PCT experience preferred.
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS) certification required via Licenses section.

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows isolation guidelines, uses protective equipment, performs handwashing, and enforces safety regulations.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy.
