Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician in Brick, NJ to assist with direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision. You will support a multidisciplinary team and participate in patient safety initiatives while focusing on comfort, safety, and satisfaction across diverse patient populations.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and mandatory completion of one of several approved patient care training programs; a PCT Apprenticeship path is also available

Qualifications

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs, a strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of our patients and their caregivers, an exceptional focus on teamwork, dedication to ongoing education and the ability and passion to deliver the highest quality of care and service based on a strong sense of patient focus are all required.
• Completion of one of the following programs: CNA, Medical Assistant or PCT program; Fundamentals of Nursing program; HMH PCT Apprenticeship Program; or equivalent medical background experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age and criteria; ensure safe and effective outcomes.
• Communicate with patients and health care team regarding patient status.
• Assist with unit/department performance improvement activities.
• Perform duties such as phlebotomy, EKG, vital signs, glucose checks and specimen handling.
• Prepare patients for assessment, examinations and procedures.
