Qualifications

• No experience required; 175-hour training during new hire orientation within 90 days to stay in PCA position.
• Preferred EMT, Paramedic, or prior patient care experience (PCA/CNA or nursing student).
• High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPCT or enrolled in healthcare career program; age 18+ and participate in Mercy UAP training.
• BLS certification required within one month of hire; PCT competencies within 3 months.
• Preferred CNA, EMT, AUA, CPCT certifications.
• Position requires lifting 50 pounds, prolonged standing and walking, and ability to bend, kneel, twist, squat.

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under the direction of the RN or LPN.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to patient care.
• Work cooperatively with the team to achieve patient wellness goals.
