Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a certified Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing care for SIH patients in a hospital setting. You will assist with vital signs, intake/output, bathing, feeding, and toileting, and participate in CPR during emergencies.

You will document promptly and communicate patient changes to the nursing staff, while completing delegated duties and collaborating with the care team.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or completion of Illinois approved CNA program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• CPR may be required for emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with patient care activities including vital signs, intake/output, bathing, feeding, and toileting.
• Assist in medical emergencies, including CPR.
• Document accurately and timely in the patient medical record.
• Relay changes in patient condition promptly to RN/LPN.
• Complete delegated tasks from Registered Nurse.
• Advocate for patients and communicate with health team members.
• Complete required education and competencies on schedule.
• Cross-train as telemetry tech if department needs.
