Job summary

HonorHealth is hiring a PRN Day Shift Nursing Assistant to support patient care across multiple East Valley locations, including Tempe, Mesa, and Florence. The role involves 12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM with floating between sites and self-scheduling for coverage.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, vital signs, and accurate documentation; weekend and holiday rotations are required, with shift differentials where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required.
• CNA preferred; EMT preferred; healthcare experience in last 12 months.
• Ability to perform nursing assistant duties under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of licensed caregiver.
• Obtain and monitor vital signs and document care.
• Report changes in patient condition to licensed staff and maintain accurate records.
• Answer questions from patients and families and support the health team.

• TEMPE MEDICAL CENTER: 1500 S Mill Avenue, Tempe AZ, 85281
• FOUR PEAKS MEDICAL CENTER: 1301 S Crismon Road, Mesa, AZ 85209
• FLORENCE MEDICAL CENTER: 4545 N Hunt Highway, Florence, AZ 85132

We offer self-scheduling for shift and weekend coverage. Scheduled workdays may vary, as there are no set or fixed days. Weekend and Holiday Rotations are required in this role. Weekend shift differentials are offered, along with evening and night shift differentials where applicable.

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

Provides patient related care tasks based on the principles of growth and development across the life span of patients served in his/her independent unit. Assists, observes, and reports patient changes to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation relative to the care delivered.

Essential Functions

• Provides and collaborates direct patient care services under the direct supervisor of a licensed caregiver. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, interventions, and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan as directed under supervisor of nurse.
• Assists, observes and reports changes in patient condition to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation in relation to the care delivered.
• Addresses and/or directs questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or health care team members.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED Required

Experience

• Other Completion of Block 1 in Nursing OR Medical Assistant (MA) OR Nursing Assistant (NA) OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) OR 6 months of experience in the healthcare setting within the last year Required
• 6 months in acute care experience. Preferred

License and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Required
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Certification Preferred
• Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT) - License Emergency Medical Tech Preferred
